Local innovative ecosystems in times of crisis

City authorities play an important role in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, also by boosting local innovation ecosystems. In times of crisis, it is important to work towards:

  • unlocking cities potential as local innovation ecosystem facilitators
  • the creation of local partnerships for innovation based on the quadruple helix model
  • scaling up already existing practices in order to overcome long-term impacts on local economies and be prepared for possible second waves.

During the workshop we will:

  1. SHARE : experience of city innovation ecosystem to overcome the Covid-19 crisis (presentation of the city-cases collected via Eurocities WG Innovation).

  2. SHARE : innovative solutions developed for local authorities during EUvsVirus – a pan-European hackathon to connect civil society, innovators, partners and buyers across Europe.

  3.  SCALE-UP ON : how the cities should cooperate with actors of innovative ecosystems and in network during the crisis.
